They all provide a wide range of nutrients and dietary fiber, which helps our bodies function properly and protects us against chronic diseases such as cancer and heart disease. 

Before I begin, let me briefly discuss diet and health. A healthy diet consists of a variety of foods that provide essential vitamins, minerals and carbohydrates necessary for good energy levels and proper functioning of the body. This means consuming whole foods that contain both protein and carbohydrate, as opposed to refined sugars or simple carbs found in most packaged foods. It also means choosing natural fats instead of highly processed vegetable oils. 

Now, without further ado, here are my top 10 healthiest foods. 

1) Water 

Water is absolutely vital to maintaining optimum health and good general condition. It has numerous health benefits, especially when it comes to digestion. Many of us do not drink enough water due to busy lifestyles, poor diets, dehydration, stress, etc. Therefore, drinking 2-3 liters of pure, filtered water per day is recommended. 

2) Fruits and vegetables 

Fruits and vegetables are high in vitamin C, potassium, folate and other important nutrients. They also contain lots of fiber, which makes them great for digestive health, weight loss and proper functioning of the intestines. 

3) Whole grains, nuts & seeds
